HONDA VISION 110 SCOOTER – REPLACEMENT FOR DIO IN EUROPE

Honda Motor Europe announced that its fast-growing scooter family receives a new member – a stylish 110cc commuter that combines ample performance with superb fuel economy. It also boasts plenty of storage space, Honda’s Combined Braking System and comfort for both rider and passenger. This new scooter is named as Vision 110.
The Vision 110 is likely to be the replacement of the Dio in the European market. The best news is that this scooter will be manufactured in the Indian plant and would then be exported to the UK.

HMSI TO BECOME NO.1 BY 2020

After the break up between Hero Group and the Japanese manufacturer Honda, the rivalry between these two manufacturers doesn’t seem to come to an end. Though the Hero Group is all set to explore the international markets by entering a few of the African nations, the Honda is seriously considering Hero Group as a greatest competitor.
Now, it seems that Honda is working with a wide plan of becoming India’s No.1 manufacturer by the year 2020. As of now, Hero Honda (soon to be named HeroMoto) is the leading manufacturer of two wheelers in the sub continent.

FIRST WOMAN TO BUY A HARLEY DAVIDSON IN INDIA

ver since the iconic Harley Davidson came to India and priced their bikes aggressively, people have been more than accumulating monies from whatever sources they can to own one. In what is considered to be a bike for scribbled tattooed cowboy hat clad muscular daredevil hunks, a female joins the race breaking all those stereotypes!
Sheeja Mathews, who works as an HR at a Bangalore based firm, has been riding another icon- her husbands bloody fast Yamaha RD350 for the past 10 years. As she puts it, she felt it’s high time she upgrades to a bigger bike and the very idea of expensive Harleys was born and a sparkling Iron 833 was zeroed in on.
Sheeja is a mother of a 7 year old son (a would be biker..?) and confirms that she had to shell out 8 lakh rupees for the bike in total out of which 20 percent were shared by her husband. Sheeja plans to take her new priced possession to office at least once a week. Also a drag racer, Sheeja loves bikes over cars.
With the growing income of Indian households, examples like these make the oncoming of these coveted brands to India do make us a gleaming star in the world economy.

PULSAR 220 & AVENGER 220 TO BE MADE AVAILABLE IN ALL BAJAJ SHOWROOMS

The Fastest Indian (Pulsar 220) and the Indian Cruiser (Avenger 220) will now be made available in all Bajaj showrooms across the country. This means that if you are interested in booking either of these bikes (or both of these as well!) you don’t have to hunt for the nearest Probiking showroom to get your hands on these machines.
And the best part of this new announcement is that besides selling these machines, servicing of these machines is also made possible. This move from Bajaj is co0nsiudered to be a boon for all the owners of the above mentioned 2 bikes. I know many friends of mine who take their bikes to 50 or 60 kms to get their Pulsar 220s serviced.

HERO GROUP LOOKING FOR DESIGN AND ENGINEERING EXPERTS

Greetings! There are a lot of things going around in the motorcycle market from the launch of new bikes to the break of successful joint ventures. When it comes to break up in context of the two wheeler market, the first thing coming to everybody’s mind is the Hero Honda joint venture menace.
Hero Honda pulled their ways apart somewhere last year and since then both the companies are only working on building their own brands and revenues. We at Bike Advice are continuously involved in tracking down the story for our readers. As per the latest development in the story, Hero MotoCorp (also known as Hero Honda till they receive the certificate of incorporation) is looking for engineering and design experts in order to develop technology base so that they can retain their top spot in the industry post its separation from Honda .
Though there is a clause in the memorandum of understanding between Hero and Honda that the latter can actually provide technical support to Hero till the end of 2014, Hero group feels like they have to be self dependent so that the company ‘s fate is not ruined after 2014. Thus the company is taking all the mandatory steps in order to build their brand and protect it. Mr. Ravi Sud, CFO of Hero group said that technology tie ups are brain storming and also a long term process. He said that the company is exploring various avenues and is looking for various tie ups and contracts with foreign firms for engines, transmission and design capabilities. It is clear that Hero is evolving its own technology and trying to produce new bikes on their own without being dependent on any other outsider.
Mr. Sud also said that the companies like Recardo and AVL from UK and Austria are good in engines and for design it would be Europe or Japan. Although he mentioned names of few companies, he did not clarify whether Hero group is in talks with them. News also has it that the company is also looking to hire engineering experts to strengthen their R&D. All in all, Hero group is all set to make their mark and is looking to strengthen the areas they were lacking. We will have to wait and see if Hero can actually make it bigger on their own and roll some new models based on their own technology.
